What personal care is

Hands on help with the most private parts of the day

Personal care services in Beverly Hills help older adults with the daily tasks that become harder with age, illness or limited mobility. These are the most private moments of anyone's routine: stepping into the shower, choosing clothes, using the bathroom. Our caregivers approach each one with patience, discretion and genuine respect.

Many seniors resist help at first because they worry about losing privacy or control. We understand that. Caregivers explain each step before they begin, offer choices whenever possible and let your loved one do as much as they comfortably can. The goal is support, never taking over, and many clients find that a little help in the bathroom gives them more energy for the rest of the day.

Personal care is non medical, and it often works alongside other services. Families frequently combine it with companion care for conversation and errands, disability support for transfers and mobility, or medication reminders to keep daily routines on track.

A typical visit

What in home personal care can include

Each visit follows the routine your loved one prefers, from the time of their morning shower to how they like their hair styled.

A morning visit might begin with help getting out of bed, a warm shower or sponge bath, and assistance choosing and putting on clothes. Caregivers help with oral care, shaving, hair brushing, skin care and nail care, the small details that help a person feel put together and ready for the day.

For clients who need incontinence care or help with toileting, caregivers provide assistance calmly and matter of factly, keeping skin clean and dry and changing linens when needed. Between tasks, they can prepare a meal, tidy the bathroom and bedroom, and make sure your loved one is settled comfortably before the visit ends.

Safety is part of every task. Caregivers watch for wet floors, loose rugs and unsteady moments, and they help your loved one sit, stand and turn at a comfortable pace. If they notice redness, bruising or a change in how your loved one moves, they let our Client Relationship Manager know so your family can follow up.

Our process

How we set up personal care services in Beverly Hills

Personal care requires trust, so we take time to get the plan and the person right.

Initial Consultation

Our Client Relationship Manager visits your loved one at home for an in person evaluation. We look at the bathroom, the bedroom and the daily routine to understand where help is needed most.

Care Plan Creation

We write a plan based on the hours and days you request, noting preferences such as bath times, clothing choices and grooming habits. Your loved one's wishes are part of every decision.

Caregiver Matching

We match by skill and by personality, looking for someone whose manner puts your loved one at ease during very personal moments. All caregivers are screened, insured and continuously trained.

Ongoing Oversight

Your Client Relationship Manager follows up with the caregiver and your family, watching for changes in skin, strength or comfort. The plan is updated as your loved one's needs evolve.

Questions Families Ask

Frequently asked questions

My mother is embarrassed to accept help bathing. How do caregivers handle that?

This is one of the most common concerns we hear. Caregivers keep your mother covered as much as possible, explain each step, and let her wash whatever she can on her own. Over a few visits, most clients become far more relaxed once they know and trust the person helping them.

Can personal care help my husband stay home after a fall or surgery?

Often, yes. A caregiver can help him wash, dress and use the bathroom safely while he regains strength, which are the tasks most likely to cause another fall. If he also needs help with transfers or walking, we can add disability support to the same plan.

Do you provide incontinence care?

Yes. Caregivers help with toileting, changing incontinence products, cleaning and keeping skin dry, and changing bedding when needed. They do this discreetly and without fuss, so your loved one keeps their dignity.

Is personal care the same as home health care?

No. Blossom provides non medical in home care, which means help with daily living tasks like bathing, dressing and grooming. We do not provide nursing or medical treatment, though we are happy to work alongside a home health company your family already uses.

Do you offer personal care services in Los Angeles neighborhoods near Beverly Hills?

Yes. From our Beverly Hills office we send caregivers throughout the Westside, including Westwood, Century City, Pacific Palisades and the Hollywood Hills. Visit our service areas page for the full list, and call any time, since we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
